As players solve the puzzles that lurk in the Unity mission in Starfield, they will be sent to a new star system, one which reveals the location of the Scorpion, the dreaded and futuristic Starborn ship that harbors the Hunter, the known killer of one of Starfield’s companions from the Constellation crew.
Things are quickly unfolding, and it’s time to find some answers in Starfield, and perhaps even gain some revenge in the process. Players can access the 13th main quest in Starfield to see what the future of the stars holds for them, their crew, and of course, their ship.
Hail And Board The Scorpius
It may be a surprise to players that they have been able to locate the Scorpius, with the pilot, the Hunter, equally surprised by this finding. Players will immediately head to their chosen system and hail the Scorpius vessel. No matter what dialogue they pick, the Hunter will simply chuckle and invite the captain to come aboard and meet another Starborn, the Emissary.
Both Starborn members have agreed to a ceasefire, and they see it as only a natural conclusion to invite the player on board. Players can begin the docking procedure to enter the Scorpius and see what awaits them inside.
Talk To The Hunter
The Hunter will chuckle as they once again greet the player. They begin their conversation by introducing the Emissary, the pilot of the Helix, who players may remember from the All That Money Can Buy quest, in which they tried to take the Artifact from Neon.
Things get a little strange from here on out, as the Emissary and the Hunter will explain what the Unity is in Starfield, and they do so by having the Emissary reveal themselves as the murdered companion whom players lost in the High Price to Pay mission. It’s startling to see a familiar face again, especially when it’s revealed that this is a being from another universe entirely, from a timeline where the player was the one that died, and the companion lived to find the Unity.
In finding the Unity, that is how one becomes Starborn. By stepping into it, they are reborn and able to enter new worlds and universes. With the Artifacts in place, the Armillary will be completed, and the way forward to the Unity will be clear. The Hunter and the Emissary confirm that every universe is the same, the Starborn fights for the Unity, and innocent people always die, including the deceased companion that is speaking to the player currently.
To create even more of a head boggle, the Hunter reveals themselves as a version of Keeper Aquilus. Each member of the Starborn argues about philosophy. For the Emissary: Order must be present to contain and control those seeking the dangers of the Artifacts and the power of the Unity. For the Hunter: anyone with the skill and power to fight back, deserves to grasp eternity when it’s within reach. At this point, the player reaches a stalemate, regardless of whether they have said they want no part in this war or must work with one person. The Emissary wants all three members in the room to work together.
(Optional) Talk To The Emissary
An optional objective, players can receive more information from the Emissary, about who they were in their past universe, and what the player was like. The Emissary may seem like a friend, due to their familiar face, but that is just the face of a dead companion, and the fact that they have traveled universes begs the question if they can be trusted, just as the dead companion once was. Gaining some information from the Emissary is a good idea to move forward and learn more about the Starborn, especially with this being the mission where players will receive a bounty of answers from their long list of questions.
(Optional) Talk To The Hunter
Talking to the Hunter, this character will inform the player that the Emissary just wants to control them, but players may be holding a grudge due to the fact that they murdered their Constellation companion. Players can see the philosophy of both people, with the Hunter wanting people to make their own choices, whilst seeing the Emissary as an oppressive judge of actions and rules. What’s most interesting, is that the Starborn don’t know who built the Artifacts, Temples, and the Unity. All they know is that this is a game to win and be reborn.
Leave The Scorpius
Learning that the Unity is a gateway to parallel universes, players should leave the Scorpius for their next objective. That is if they have received some of the answers that they seek from both Starborn members. Players can investigate the Scorpius cockpit, but there’s not much to investigate, other than the stellar view.
As players go to leave the Scorpius, the Emissary will quickly stop them, and ask that they venture to the Nova Galactic Research Station on Earth’s Moon in the Sol System. Players are provided with the Moon Base Key to unlock a secret that the Starborn wants them to see, along with an apology from them about how things have happened in this universe.
