Starfield: Short Sighted Walkthrough 9

Short Sighted is one of the shortest missions in Starfield, and the 9th main quest in the game. Players won’t be sticking this one out for a long time, and it involves a quick few chores that will only take a few minutes before players head off to their next destination in Starfield.

It’s a nice change of pace from shooting space pirates and being hunted down by the still illusive and unknown powers of the Starborn, to begin, players simply need to head to The Eye, the space station belonging to Constellation that orbits Jemison in the Alpha Centauri System.

Go To The Eye

No matter the planet players are on, they simply need to fly over to The Eye to begin this mission. On board, they will find their companions all hard at work, whilst Vladimir watches from the main console, ensuring that everything is going along smoothly.

As soon as the player boards The Eye, Vladimir will ask the player if they can lend a hand to the crew members who are trying to get the ship up and running to its full potential. This shouldn’t take long, and players just need to locate each of the crew members to give them a hand at their work.

Help The Crew

In the Scanning Control room, players can find Barrett working on a computer module. He will ask players to test the connection on a terminal nearby, which luckily for the player, is just to the right of his location. Clicking Test Connection, players will ping the Lodge from the Eye, resulting in a success.

Also in the Scanning Control room, players can find Sarah, who asks players to pick up a wrench on the table beside her. Players only need to click the action button on the wrench for a descriptive action to pop up, which informs players that despite tightening down the equipment, a spark has caused a small explosion in one of the electric boxes. From here, players can talk to Vladimir, and either take no blame in the matter or explain what happens. Regardless of the outcome, Vladimir will ask to speak to the player about a more urgent matter, the next quest.

In Facilities FO1, the room to the right of the Scanning Control room, players will find Sam Coe and his daughter, Cora. Sam is using a welder and asks the player to help. The player can once again press the action button to help and will be met with a successful text prompt, but alas, no XP for those who want to level up fast.

Lastly, Andreja can be found in the Cafeteria, which can be found by following through the room Sam and Cora are in and heading to the right. Inside, she asks the player to help assemble some mechanical parts. Pressing the action button will install the scanning equipment.

Talk To Vladimir

Now that every crew member has chipped in to help, players need only to talk to Vladimir and begin their next quest (after receiving some rewards and XP of course). The next quest begins immediately, but players can always leave the Eye and come back until they are ready for the next Starfield mission.
